In-game apps platform Overwolf introduced that it has acquired add-on and modification administration system CurseForge from Amazon-owned streaming platform Twitch. This marks the second transition of the CurseForge asset, which was initially created by gaming web sites community Curse earlier than being acquired by Amazon subsidiary Twitch in 2016. Monetary particulars of the deal weren’t disclosed.
CurseForge presents instruments and providers associated to constructing and importing recreation modifications for common video games corresponding to Minecraft. Overwolf plans to detach CurseForge from the Twitch shopper and distribute the software program as a standalone desktop app as an alternative. Moreover, the corporate said that it “has pledged to pay CurseForge mod authors 50% extra by 2022, whereas not disrupting their present income streams.”
